Happy Birthday!!!

Good evening, everyone! I have some great news! My birthday is coming up this week! YAY!!!!! Because it’s so last minute, I will not be accepting presents, but rather request you give yourself the gift of something nice just for you. Maybe it’s reading a book and enjoying a hot cup of cocoa, maybe it’s an evening of binge-watching your favorite show, or maybe it’s going out and splurging for that travel mug you’ve been eyeing.

I had an AMAZING week last week hanging out with my two nephews, who are 15 and 8 years old. They are funny, clever, and really nice. I really love them both and am so proud they are my family.

The only downside to my time with them is that as soon as I recovered from my own cold, I got my nephew’s cold, and it turned into bronchitis. YUCK. I went to the doctor today and got some awesome medicine and hopefully will be a lot better for my birthday. But until then, OFF TO BED!

A quiet place

My grandfather passed away about three weeks ago. “Hey buddy!” He’d say when you walked in the room. He had a lot of buddies 🙂

I’ve been working a lot at my part time job, and just kinda processing this event. I don’t really want to talk about it. This week, I’m back to drawing in earnest, and I find a lot of comfort in it.

Cookie Time!

I remember my mother baking cookies with my big brother and me. We would eat a couple cookies, then put the rest in this awesome Cookie Monster jar. Sometimes we’d eat another with my Dad when he came home from work. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon together when my parents had one car to share. I can bake a delicious chocolate chip cookie now that I’m an adult, but the memory of how those cookies looked, smelled and tasted tops any cookie I eat today.
