Art Therapy

I’m having a down day. I’m sure there are many reasons, it’s a grey day, I haven’t slept well for a few nights…

Days like these, I stay in my pajamas and keep busy. I’ll work on my knitting,  play the piano, or organize my closets. Anything that isn’t sitting and ruminating.

Today I decided to draw it out. I used Photoshop CS5, my fancy Cintiq, and worked in silence. Soon I was in the zone where thoughts are quiet and it’s just drawing.

So here is my sad self-portrait. Not surprising, I felt a lot better as I worked on it. By the end, I felt practically happy.

What do you do when you are having a down day and want to feel better?

  1. Hope you feel better soon. I make something complicated in the kitchen… it doesnt even have to be bad for me or junk food, I just like pretending to be a chef for a little bit, and I feel all accomplished when I finish. I made the best spinach and cherry tomato tart the other day. It had feta and was amazing!!

    1. Thank you! I do feel a lot better. I didn’t realize how blue I had felt until after this post. I cut out a lot of sugar from my diet, started walking in the sunshine, and cleaning out some stuff. 🙂

your tart sounds amazing! That’s no easy feat 🙂 I prefer cleaning to cooking, see what a good team we’d make!! I hope Batz is getting used to your new puppy 😀
